THE NAME “CHULA”
The name “Chula” is especially meaningful. It’s a nickname that Manny lovingly gave to his granddaughters, Sawyer and Charlie. “Chula” is a term of endearment in Mexican culture, meaning “cute” or “beautiful,” and for Manny, it represents the joy and love that his granddaughters bring into his life. This restaurant isn’t just a business, it’s a legacy he’s creating for Sawyer, Charlie, and the generations to come.

THE FOUNDERS
Manny
Manny fondly remembers his family kitchen. Inspired by his Mexican heritage, he wanted to recreate the authentic food and treasured memories from his childhood. He values that “something special” about enjoying great food surrounded by those you love. Unlike other Mexican-Latin restaurants, Manny set out to create a unique dining concept. One that was upscale yet laid-back and friendly so visitors could enjoy a delicious meal and catch up with family and friends.
Suzie
Suzie shares Manny’s deep passion for the community. As a former wine and spirits wholesaler, she has connections to some of the nation’s top restaurants and chefs. She spent over 20 years procuring the finest beverages for her clients while gaining exceptional knowledge and experience with some of the country’s finest wine and spirit’s producers.
Mercedes
Mercedes has an exceptional talent for creating one-of-a-kind guest experiences. Her career has spanned the fine dining and restaurant service industry. As an avid restaurateur, Mercedes understands how exceptional service, authentic cuisine, and a lively atmosphere keep patrons coming back again and again. Chula’s effortlessly blends elegance with a relaxed family feel that engages everyone, so your children will love Chula’s as much as you do.
